Branch 142, NALC, is a non-profit labor organization that represents letter carriers in the Postal Service.  Our membership of 2,400 represents a cross section of the nation.  The mission of our Branch is to unite fraternally all employees who are eligible for membership into one harmonious body for their mutual benefit; to protect the rights our national organization has secured; when appropriate to obtain and secure the rights of our members at the local level; and to assist our national organization in its efforts to improve the working conditions of all letter carriers.  For address and telephone number information browse our contact page.

Our representation includes but is not limited to, disputes, differences, disagreements or complaints of letter carriers that are related to wages, hours, and conditions of employment at Informal Step A and Formal Step A of the NALC-USPS grievance procedure.

Another very important function we are proud of is our community service outreach.  Probably the single biggest community outreach function we perform is our national organization's annual food-drive.  The NALC, Postal Service and the Campbell Soup Company make a major contribution to stamping out hunger in the U.S.  This also presents an opportunity for the public to participate.  The food-drive is always scheduled on the 2nd Saturday of May.

In addition to the food-drive, our community service committee collects food for the needy in our area and they go to public schools to make children aware of what function labor unions provide.
